Beaver Creek at your doorstep, a real mountain town at your back, and a resort that keeps collecting trophies.

In July we introduced you to 42 Riverfront Lane #102 at the Westin Riverfront. Since then the aspens have started to turn, the snowmaking crews are getting ready, and the price has eased to $2,205,000. The reasons it's worth a look haven't changed, and the calendar is making them more pressing.

Next door to Beaver Creek, not stuck inside it

Beaver Creek is one of the most polished ski experiences in North America. Staying up in the Village has its charms, but it also means the gatehouse, the winding drive, and the sense that you've checked into a very nice bubble.

The Westin Riverfront gives you the mountain without the bubble. The Riverfront Express Gondola sits steps from the ski valet and carries you from the banks of the Eagle River up into Beaver Creek. At the end of the day you come back down to Avon, a real, year-round town with groceries, restaurants, Nottingham Park, and a paved trail that runs all the way to Vail. You get Beaver Creek skiing on Avon terms, plus complimentary resort shuttles to Beaver Creek Village, Bachelor Gulch, and Vail when you want a change of scenery. And Eagle County Regional Airport is only about 25 miles down valley.

The trophy case keeps getting fuller

This summer, Travel + Leisure readers ranked the Westin Riverfront the No. 3 resort in Colorado in the 2026 World's Best Awards. More than 661,000 readers voted. That came on the heels of Condé Nast Traveler's Triple Crown Award, which honors hotels that have earned its Hot List, Gold List, and Readers' Choice recognition. Add a AAA Four Diamond rating, Spa Anjali's title as Colorado's Best Resort Spa at the 2025 World Spa Awards, and a fitness facility named one of the 20 best hotel gyms in the country.

For an owner, those accolades mean more than bragging rights. When the unit is in the rental program, they're the reason guests pick this resort over the dozens of others between Denver and Glenwood Springs. Your renters arrive already sold on the place, and that shows up in occupancy and nightly rates. On a peak February weekend, a one-bedroom suite here can command well over $1,300 a night.

The residence itself

#102 was completed in 2024 inside the Vail Valley's first 100% electric, LEED Gold building, with rooftop solar, purified air, and free EV charging. It has two bedrooms and two baths across 1,011 square feet. The second suite sleeps three, and the living room windows frame steam rising off the heated pool with Beaver Creek Mountain behind it. The finishes include marble counters, Bosch appliances, a wine fridge, custom lit closets, glass-enclosed showers, automated blackout blinds, and large-screen TVs throughout. Underground parking and a generous owner's storage cage keep your skis, bikes, and paddleboards on site.

Why the calendar matters

Beaver Creek is targeting a November 25 opening, with Vail two weeks earlier. After last winter's thin snowpack, Vail Resorts is openly optimistic about the season ahead. That leaves roughly nine weeks.

A buyer who moves in the next few weeks can close, settle in, stock the gear cage, and still be ready for the first chair. That buyer can also decide how many weeks to keep for family and how many to release to the rental program during the stretch that matters most: the holidays, Presidents' Day, and spring break.

In its first year, #102 generated about $50,000 in short-term rental revenue. That comfortably covered HOA dues of roughly $24,000 a year and property taxes near $13,400, and the management team handled everything.

Someone is going to spend this winter watching the alpenglow from that covered deck. The only real question is whether they close in October or wait until next season.
